    Summary: As a Senior Business Analyst in Capital Risk Oversight (CapRO), you will utilize your strategic and analytical skills to review and question the credit loss forecasts for different lines of business, which inform the company's quarterly allowance and annual stress testing estimates. All this will take place in a collaborative environment that appreciates your insights, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.
    General Responsibilities:
    • Analysis: Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
    • Product: Conduct modeling/analytics to support new product and pricing strategies for various lending products
    • Marketing: Assist direct-to-consumer marketing efforts for selected products and strategic intent for products distributed through the retail channel. Help create targeted insights to guide the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as innovative technology and concepts designed to implement new go-to-market strategies
    • Credit Risk: Assist in making significant improvements in credit performance by linking future consumer credit trends to historical behavior, building risk models, and testing hypotheses through thorough monitoring and analysis
    • Execution: Participate in problem framing, hypothesis development, testing and analysis, solution development, scoping operational feasibility, leading implementation efforts, and creating a monitoring plan
    • Partnership: Collaborate closely with colleagues across Capital One, including IT, Sales, Operations, Finance, and others to enhance quality, volume, service, and profitability
    • Strategic & analytic orientation: Demonstrate a proven track record of decision-making and problem solving guided by analytics. Strong conceptual thinking skills must be matched with a robust quantitative focus, given that a significant portion of the business relies on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk management
    • Strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity: Display strong decision-making abilities, with a balanced approach to business that is both assertive and responsible
    • Strong communication skills: Possess outstanding written and oral communication abilities, along with strategic influencing skills and the capacity to foster agreement through intellect, interpersonal skills, and negotiation abilities
    • Clear results orientation: Show a keen focus on accomplishing short and long-term objectives. Demonstrate the capability to drive and implement an agenda in an unpredictable and dynamic environment
    • Proven success in thriving within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic setting. Previous experience in consulting is a valuable asset
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)
    • Minimum of 1 year of analysis experience
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's Degree in Business or a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
    • 1+ years of experience in Statistical model building
    • 1+ years of experience in market research
    • 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
    • 2+ years of experience in business analysis
    • 1+ years of experience in consulting
