    SUMMARY:


    Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Social and Youth Services, is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination and conducting department special programs and providing information on a daily basis to residents, family members and outside agencies about services and resources.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK:
    Assists Social Worker with operation of Wethersfield Food Bank, Mobile Food Share and Weekend/Summer Meals.

    Provides assistance in the planning and organizing of special programs such as Back to School Supplies, Thanksgiving Baskets and Holiday Gift Program.

    Works with staff, volunteers and donors to coordinate fundraising efforts (campership fund, fuel bank). Responds to information inquiries and requests regarding social service programs. Helps staff with outreach efforts, website and social media. Maintains confidentiality of all records and contacts with individuals requesting assistance. Performs other related duties as required

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


    The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with an Associates Degree with a minimum of two years' work experience in Human Services or a related field.

    Possession of a State of Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
