    This Opportunity
    WSP is currently initiating a search for a
    CMT Engineer for our
    Louisville, KY office.

    In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting the department manager in overseeing the activities of our laboratory, our CMT field staff, and CMT projects.


    Your Impact

    • Assist with development of technical training programs, Lab Accreditation, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and materials for the Materials Practice Team.
    • Coordinate with hubs and spokes regarding technical materials related issues.
    • Participate in ATO and construction materials testing practice coordination meetings and provide reporting and other inputs.
    • Interact with field technicians and address technical and logistical needs
    • Provide input for Construction Materials Testing for management of initiatives, strategy, training, technology, business development and innovation.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting project plans and specifications
    • Assist in management of overall quality performance within Materials Practice Team for compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Manage CMT projects; this will include project administrative duties, financial performance of projects, supervision of field staff on assigned projects, etc.
    • Abide by WSP's health and safety policies and procedures.
    • Ensures that the testing services are accomplished consistent with WSP's quality protocol and in an orderly and efficient manner.
    • Play a key role in upholding our company's Quality program and Construction Materials Quality Management System (QMS), guaranteeing that laboratory processes and personnel consistently meet our rigorous standards, and maintain its current AMRL, CCRL, and USACE accreditations.
    • Assists the Department Manager to ensure that laboratory personnel are properly trained, supervised and equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to ensure their personal safety in the office and laboratory.
    • Coordinates the laboratory activities to ensure that the work is executed on time and in accordance with the client and project requirements and within company policies, procedures and standards.
    • Ensures that laboratory processes and personnel adhere to the requirements of the company Quality program and the Construction Materials Quality Management System (QMS).
    • Assists the Department Manager and lab staff with overseeing calibration and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
    • Coordinates the inter-departmental and inter-office activities of laboratory personnel with joint company efforts where necessary.
    • Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
    • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
    • Efficient utilization of facilities and equipment assigned to the laboratory will be under your supervision, and you will have the opportunity to make requests for additional resources as needed to meet client demands.

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
    • Candidate shall have, at a minimum, an EIT certificate and actively pursuing licensure
    • Preferable but not required, 5 or more years of progressively responsible technical experience, management, and leadership of deliverables and/or projects in the Materials Practice.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of WSP.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven with the ability to organize priorities and multi-task effectively.
    • Proven problem-solving skills in demanding situations.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with internal and external clients.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams (Channels, SharePoint).
    • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
    • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
