    About Cloudflare's content marketing team

The content marketing team writes, edits, and manages content for use in marketing and sales campaigns — articles, event presentations, videos, promotional copy, and more.

We work most closely with designers, web producers, product marketers, campaign managers, and event planners, but also collaborate as needed with people across the entire organization.

About the Sr. Manager of Content Marketing role

    The Sr.

Manager of Content Marketing will lead a team of writers who create a variety of content used in multi-channel marketing campaigns.

This is a "player/coach" role, which will require a mixture of strategic planning, team management, and hands-on writing and editing.

    The role's primary responsibilities are:

    Managing Cloudflare's content development pipeline:
fielding requests, assigning projects, keeping track of progress, and removing blockers

Working with marketing colleagues to create quarterly and yearly content marketing plans

Establishing and managing relationships with third-party writing resources (e.g. freelancers + agencies)

Running content strategy and development for global events

Working with the SEO team on web content strategy and development

Writing content for high-priority marketing campaigns

Editing content written by the content team and other marketing colleagues

Establishing and maintaining a content taxonomy

Advising and training colleagues on Cloudflare messaging and brand style

Who we're looking for in a candidate:

The ideal candidate is someone with 8+ years' full-time experience in content marketing, including 3+ years' leading a content team.

Prior experience in enterprise technology / software is required, and IT or cybersecurity experience is highly desirable.

Based on this experience, we expect the ideal candidate to be:

A capable marketer, who has a deep understanding of how content powers multi-channel demand generation campaigns, events, organic search efforts, PR launches, and other marketing activities

A creative strategist, who can help colleagues ideate unique and compelling content concepts

An excellent writer, who is capable of clear, concise, persuasive communication

A thoughtful editor, who can improve a written piece's grammar and structure to increase clarity and impact

A determined project manager, who can manage a complex content production pipeline and anticipate/remove blockers

An empathetic mentor, who can apply their deep knowledge of professional writing processes to coach and support other writers

Sincerely interested in the deep technical details of how the Internet and related technologies work — and healthily skeptical about buzzwords, jargon, and flimsy business logic
