Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Truck Service Writer/Shop manager assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will help manage parts inventory, fleet and customer maintenance schedules, data input, and work order writing/assisting in invoicing.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Greet customers and drivers promptly and professionally, gathering detailed information about their vehicle issues and service needs.
- Assist in writing accurate and comprehensive repair orders, including descriptions of problems, recommended services, and estimated costs.
- Coordinate with shop manager or service technicians to prioritize repairs, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work.
- Potentially develop online parts sales
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including cash handling, estimates, and work orders.
- Communicate clearly with customers and drivers regarding vehicle status, repair procedures, and cost estimates to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist with automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments when necessary to better understand customer and driver concerns.
Qualifications
- Proven service management experience with a strong understanding of repair processes and times.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension systems, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignment, and auto body repair.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in vehicle maintenance and service writing.
- Experience in auto estimating software and auto sales is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and teamwork.
- Prior experience working with mechanic teams or in a dealership environment is preferred. Pay: $53, $64,044.42 per year
