- Minimum 5 years of experience in plant electric system design, including construction, operations, maintenance, testing, or analysis in the utility or marine propulsion sectors.
- Expertise with transformers, switchgear, breakers, power cables, generators, motors, power panels, or electric transmission.
- Familiarity with equipment sizing, analysis calculations, protection schemes, and UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply).
- Understanding of state and Federal regulations impacting electric operations.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Conduct System Condition Assessments to recognize and document system or component deficiencies, evaluate equipment operation, and initiate corrective actions.
- Establish and uphold effective communication channels among various internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and update System Descriptions, P&ID's, and other design documentation.
- Analyze root causes of component failures and forced outages.
- Offer engineering assistance to Steam Generating Stations.
- Engage in project planning, outages, and construction procedures.
- Develop or review acceptance test plans, and supervise or observe testing/commissioning.
- Coordinate with and monitor activities of equipment and service providers, both internal and external.
- Create comprehensive reports and presentations for Central Engineering capital planning and management.
- Maintain effective communication lines among various divisions and external parties.
- Execute other relevant tasks and assignments as needed.
