    Job Description

    American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role focused on medical/pulmonary patients, requiring chronic ventilator experience and EPIC proficiency.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a PCU with a focus on medical and pulmonary patients and renal overflow
    Care for adult and geriatric patients on the Hospitalist service
    Manage up to two ventilated patients per nurse

    Patient ratio is typically 1:5

    Cardiac monitoring and administration of common cardiac drips without titration
    Ventilator care required for chronic vented patients (not ICU level)
    Utilizes EPIC for charting
    Shift schedule is 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
    Weekend requirement is either every other weekend or six weekend shifts per six-week block
    Floating will be required within skillset
    Assist with rapid response and code teams as needed
    Unit utilizes tele-sitting technology to support patient care
    Care for patients requiring isolation precautions
    First-time travelers are welcome to apply

    Hospital accepts local candidates

    Requirements
    Active RN Compact or Virginia state license required; pending license accepted for non-compact states only

    Current certifications:
    ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

    Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
    Must have experience with chronic ventilator patient care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
    Proficiency with respiratory support including non-invasive airway management
    EPIC charting experience required
    Must provide two professional references for consideration
