- Performs OCT testing on the Cirrus and Spectralis machines according to protocol.
- Performs A scan testing including calculation of intraocular lens power
- Performs B scan ultrasound, including impression
- Performs fundus photography.
- Performs external photography, including slit lamp and gonio photography.
- Performs Humphrey Visual Field testing, including Ptosis visual field testing.
- Performs anterior and posterior segment OCT testing.
- Performs IOL master testing
- Participate in testing in the OR.
- Engages in the approved development and investigative scientific research activities.
- Ensure data backup and ensure maintenance of equipment is scheduled.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Performs other testing procedures as added to department
- Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy and medications is required.
- 3-5 years' experience in HVF, Spectralis OCT's, fundus photos, IOL master, and A scan.
- Ultrasound and electrophysiology experience a plus.
- Experience with electronic medical records is necessary.
- NextGen EMR experience is a plus.
- Proven record of attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneous.
- Proficient and accurate computer typing skills required.
- Broad knowledge base of ophthalmic terminology preferred.

Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Diagnostic Ophthalmic Technician will perform basic, advanced and complex manual and automated imaging of the eye for diagnostic treatment, educational, and research purposes. This position will also assist with maintaining photographic equipment, devices and imaging systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Education/Certification:
Ophthalmic technician certification or medical imaging background with certification a plus. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) after 2 years on the job required. Current JCAHPO certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) is preferred.
