Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing
Location: Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center, Sheridan, Wyoming
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to provide support and assist residents in performing daily living activities. We are looking for a compassionate advocate for residents and their families. As a ADON you will be responsible for supporting medical staff in administering care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with care plans, physician orders, and facility standards.
- Assess, monitor, and document patients' conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, and other team members to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
- Supervise and support CNAs and other nursing staff in daily care activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality assurance, infection control, and safety initiatives.
- Respond to medical emergencies and follow established protocols.
- Uphold professional standards, patient confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
- Comprehensive understanding of CMS, state, and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities, including survey preparedness, QAPI programs, and PDPM/RAI requirements.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and excellence in resident care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in budget management, staffing and scheduling oversight, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of resident assessment, care planning, and clinical documentation standards to ensure accuracy and compliance with reimbursement systems.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license by the State Board of Nursing
- CPR Certified
- Supervisory position in Long Term Care: 1-2 years required
- Ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents with diverse physical and cognitive needs.
- Good collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Fast and adaptive problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with residents, families, staff.
- A passion for providing compassionate, high-quality care to seniors.
