The Veterinary Technician Supervisor provides high-quality medical support and nursing care to companion animal patients in addition to providing top leadership and oversight to technicians.
Responsibilities
- Training – In collaboration of the Lead Training Coordinator assists in development of training protocols.
- Interview potential new technicians candidates perform mid annual formal performance reviews per hospital protocol leads veterinary technician team by example acts mentor technical staff particular focus Technician Leads ensures appropriate medical techniques utilized ensure employees demonstrating positive customer service clients provide feedback Senior Leadership Team corrective action coaching needed root cause documented training coaching sessions communication act bridge between leadership team technical staff maintain open channels constructive dialogue schedule plan conduct bi-weekly Technician Lead meetings quarterly bi-annual check-in meetings participate regular team meetings identify areas improvement within company consistent messages disseminated employees increase knowledge supervisory leadership skills develop cohesive team members Leadership Team assist monitoring offices hospital areas compliance duties notify Assistant Hospital Manager proper policies followed duties completed lab meets regularly Lab Officer equipment maintained adequate quantity supplies radiology collaborate Radiology Officer radiation safety protocols enforced radiology badges properly managed train staff properly clean wrap surgical packs ensure surgical suite stocked cleaned maintained isolation kept clean stocked collaborate Equipment Manager equipment supplies maintained functioning engagement leader improve staff retention foster culture growth development identify solicit opportunities growth technical staff assess implement adjustments necessary fully competent organizational policies procedures involved implementation relevant SOP.
