- Inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenancesuch as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheelbalancing, and replacing filters.
- Maintains vehicle is in functional condition and verifiesvehicle serviceability
- Testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards to makesure they follow state vehicle requirements
- Maintaining vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting (whenrequired.)
- Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Keeping shop equipment operating by following operatinginstructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performingpreventive maintenance; and calling for repairs.
- Contains costs by using a warranty, and evaluating service and partsoptions.
- Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; and verifying receipts.
