    The Accounting Manager will support the real estate activities of Rayonier including community development projects and assist the Real Estate Controller in the preparation of forecasts, budgets, long-range plans, and other ad-hoc reporting on financial performance of the segment.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Work with other finance and accounting departments to ensure the timely closing and accurate reporting of assigned Real Estate areas each month.
    • Work with project managers to prepare forecasts of project spending as needed for quarterly forecasts, budget, and long-range plan and ad hoc analysis/reporting.
    • Track and reconcile spending for real estate project expenditures to plan and analyze differences.
    • Ensure expenditures on community development projects, both capital and expense, are correctly classified and reported in the financial records.
    • Collaborate with the RE Operational Accountant as they perform their duties to ensure timely, accurate and consistent processing of purchasing requests, proper recording of items, and tracking and reporting of spending on each contract and/or purchase orders.
    • Ensure all land sales and basis on such sales for assigned areas are correctly reported in the financial records.
    • Reconcile assigned accounts at the end of each quarter and fiscal year.
    • Resolve day-to-day finance and accounting issues on assigned areas.
    • Help support sound financial decision making with a variety of ad-hoc analysis and requests.
    • Support the community development team in the preparation of project models.
    • Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems, work processes and procedures.
    • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related curriculum required. An MBA or Master's degree in Accountancy is preferred.
    • CPA or CPA Track preferred
    • Six or more years of increasing responsibility in accounting and financial analysis. Real Estate Development experience preferred but not required.
    • Must have a sound understanding of GAAP generally accepted accounting principles. Must also possess strong analytical skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong computer skills.
    • Superior organizational skills required, must be detail oriented.
    • Experience with accounting consolidation and reporting software is required. Experience with Workvia, Dynamics 365, TM1, and Power BI preferred.
    • Must be a team player that can support others and work towards a common goal.
