    Position Summary PACCAR's Embedded Engineering department, which serves both Kenworth and Peterbilt, has an opening for a Control System Engineer.

    Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination and will be responsible for the electrical and electronic component and subsystem design, and electrical integration into heavy-duty vehicles.

    Job Functions / Responsibilities Manage electrical and electronic components or systems through all stages of product development, including initial prototype development through to the start of production and beyond, for autonomous commercial trucks.

    Work as part of a cross-functional team with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and other professionals to ensure quality electrical designs.

    Solve problems across technical domains and across the product development lifecycle, from early-stage research to field failures and warranty investigations of products in mass production.

    Support validation activities across supplier and internal teams to ensure industry-leading quality and reliability are met/maintained/exceeded on all components and systems.

    Support new product launches at truck assembly plants as needed and resolve field issues as identified. Up to 15% travel. Required Qualifications & Skills B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree required. M.S. in an appropriate technical field (CS/EE preferred) and/or PE license preferred.

    5+ years of experience in the design & release of automotive or commercial vehicle electrical components, including software, wire harnesses, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI Proficiency in using Engineering tools (Pro-Engineer, Mentor Graphics, Matlab/Simulink, Rhapsody) Knowledge of SAE J1939, ISO 26262, and ISO 17987 LIN Protocol standards and compliance practices Awareness of heavy-duty commercial truck regulations, especially affecting instrumentation, emissions, safety, On Board Diagnostics, and other areas impacting electrical/electronic design, architecture, and functionality Experience with supplier management through AlAG processes Knowledge of DFSS tools including FMEA, QFD, etc.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Control Systems Engineer position is $96,700 - $151,300 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
