    Kennedy Jenks is seeking a driven Mechanical Process Engineer to work in one of our many KJ offices while supporting projects across the country.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level or senior candidate with experience in a variety of mechanical design aspects of water and environmental projects, including pump stations, piping, heat transfer, valves, unit process treatment equipment, chemical storage and feed, hydraulics, etc.

    You will work in a collegial and supportive team-based environment on projects from initial planning stages through design and construction completion.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Develop process mechanical concepts during planning stages.
    Develop and manage process mechanical teams through detailed design stages of projects, including delegation of tasks and managing budget.
    Prepare calculations, design drawings and technical specifications to meet project objectives.
    Prepare opinions of probable costs.
    Collaborate with Kennedy Jenks project managers, structural, architectural, electrical, controls and CAD teams.
    Present system design to clients as needed. Support with construction administration including reviewing contractors submittals, RFIs and change orders.
    Assist with system start-ups as needed.


    Qualifications:


    5+ years of related design experienceBS in Mechanical Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer license (PE) requiredPrior design experience with municipal capital improvement projects (i.e.

    water/wastewater pump stations, municipal treatment facilities, conveyance, collection, stormwater, water resources, etc.) is required.
    Strong technical writing and communication skills with both clients and internal teams is required.

    Experience with leading a project discipline team, providing day-to-day project supervision and direction, and coordinating discipline design efforts with multi-disciplinary teams is preferred.

    Salary range for this position is anticipated to be $100,000 to $140,000, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
