Responsibilities
ICU nurses specialize in treating critically ill patients in general intensive care units, post-op units, burn units, and other specialized, intensive care units.
Most Critical Care travel positions are in hospitals, but ICURNs can choose from many different subspecialties. Some rehabilitation facilities also use critical care nurses because of their skills with ventilators and tracheostomy tubes. An important function of Critical Care nurses is to provide education and support to patients and their families.
Requirements
1+ year of recent experience in this specialty and settingValid nursing license as required by this stateValid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through AHA recommended and may be requiredSpecialty-related certifications are preferred and may be requiredProfessional ReferencesAdditional job specific requirements will be provided by your Recruiter
