- Accurately, efficiently, and thoroughly prepare and review individual, partnership, corporate and fiduciary tax returns of moderate complexity.
- Prepare work papers and other documentation, including (but not limited to) tax journal entries to the trial balance, book to tax journal entries, depreciation schedules.
- Develop tax plans and projections for tax extensions.
- Reconcile taxable income.
- Conduct research and stay abreast of latest regulatory changes in tax.
- Provide assistance to peers and others when requested, including overseeing, reviewing work of interns.
- Act as engagement leader as assigned.
- Recognize extended to tax service opportunities for client and bring them to the attention of upper management
- B.S. in Accounting; MS in Taxation desired
- CPA certification or eligibility required
- 2-6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a mid to large public accounting firm
- Understanding of the complex requirements of returns for High Net Worth Individuals, S Corps, C Corps, partnerships
- Understand all aspects of an engagement
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles (such as financial statements and journal entries) and tax standards to effectively supervise staff and solve routine engagement principles
- Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Developed analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
- Leadership capabilities
- Ability to effectively articulate basic tax and business issues and their resolutions
