    Summary of the Position

    Research associates work with their functional area leads to carry out benchtop experiments that advance our non-viral gene therapies towards the clinic. You will develop and conduct in vitro and ex vivo assays characterizing novel nucleic acid formulations for potency, specificity, immunogenicity, and toxicity. In the course of your work, you will utilize standard biochemistry and molecular biology techniques such as cell isolation, ELISA, chromogenic and fluorogenic assays, flow cytometry, western blots, protein/RNA/DNA gels, bacterial culture, and mammalian cell culture. The successful applicant will be proficient in aseptic techniques and wet-lab basics. There will also be opportunities to support in vivo studies at our Philadelphia location based on aptitude and interest.     Responsibilities

    · Plan, conduct, and analyze wet-lab experiments in a safe and reproducible manner

    · Accurately document and convey experimental results in sub-team and full-team settings

    · Support gene therapy formulation screening through cell culture maintenance and functional assays (flow cytometry, biochemical assays, western blots, etc)

    · Assist with new method/assay development

    Qualifications

    · BS/MS in biochemistry/molecular biology and related disciplines

    · 0-2 years of industry experience

    · Applicants with 0 years of post-bac work experience need at least 1 year (or 2 summers) of wet-lab experience in aseptic technique through a university research lab or internship

    · Rodent or immunology experience beneficial

    · Experience and familiarity with cell and gene therapies a plus
