    Description

    A wealth management firm in the financial district is seeking a Tax Manager/Tax Analyst to join their team.

    The Tax Advisor assumes responsibility for comprehensive preparation of tax returns for a designated group of individual clients. This role also contributes to broader tax analysis and planning initiatives within the department.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Prepare intricate tax returns for high-net-worth individual clients.
    • Review colleagues' tax returns to ensure accuracy and quality.
    • Conduct meetings with clients and Trustees to discuss financial and tax planning strategies.
    • Analyze and manage quarterly estimated tax payments for assigned individual accounts.
    • Identify and collaborate on taxable events with legal implications alongside team members.
    • Contribute to the development and execution of department-wide tax initiatives.
    • Identify tax planning opportunities for individuals and families in coordination with Trustees and the Tax Department Team.
    • Collaborate with other office teams, such as General Counsel and Trust Administration, to ensure comprehensive and compliant tax planning.
    • Mentor junior Tax Advisors.
    • Utilize tax research, planning, and preparation software like BNA and Profx.
    • Collaborate with Tax Team members, Business Analysts, and Application Developers to optimize technology and workflow processes.

    Education, Experience & Qualifications:

    • Bachelors or Masters Degree in business, accounting, taxation, or Certified Financial Planning.
    • Public accounting experience at a managerial level.
    • At least 7 years of experience in individual tax return preparation.
    • Minimum 5 years of direct client interaction involving financial planning and analysis.
    • Current expertise in individual and gift tax matters.
    • Experience with fiduciary and estate tax returns is preferred.
    • Strong grasp of Investment Management principles.
