Our project portfolio features experience in bridge, highway, and structural design; condition and safety inspection; civil and site engineering support; construction inspection and administration; survey and mapping; and hydrographic services.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Prudent Engineering is seeking a Junior Engineer with civil/site skills for our Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse office. Experience in structural design is a plus.

    • Conduct feasibility studies, conceptual designs, design calculations, final design specifications, engineering, construction cost estimates, and support of permitting applications.
    • Participate in field condition inspections, safety assessments, and assist in the production of appropriate technical reports of findings.
    • Provide day-to-day support and oversight of project elements.
    • Assist construction management field and office support as required.
    • Represent Prudent Engineering at project meetings as needed.

    Minimum Requirements

    • A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is preferred (Associate's degree in Civil Technology is minimum).
    • Proficient with HEC-RAS, MicroStation (inroads), Autodesk AutoCAD, and MS Office software.
    • Additional experience with any of the following would be a plus: bridge design, highway design, design of earthworks, GIS, stream bed and bank stabilization, survey, emergency action plans, fish passage, wetland identification, and water control structure operations.
    • Ability to work independently on project assignments.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
