    Clinical Nurse II: Neuroscience and Epilepsy

    At Albany Medical Center, we are seeking a Clinical Nurse II to join our Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) team.

    About the Role:

    • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures and special tests.
    • Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify patient conditions.
    • Evaluate patient needs for care rendered and assess responses to treatment.

    This 21-bed neurosciences unit provides compassionate care to patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, aneurysms seizures traumatic brain injuries neuromuscular diseases and other diagnoses involving the neurological system. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5 on floor beds consisting of every four hour monitoring patients seizure disorder candidates embedded within these neuro floors often undergo surgical mapping which involves surgically placed grids pinpointing areas causing seizures allowing surgeons determination whether removal parts functionality still possible offer chance cure remaining deficits gracefully reducing symptom burden gradually without drastically changing normal function entirely giving some hope returning people precious lives lost elsewhere leaving behind loved ones needing support during difficult times facing uncertainty ourselves after experiencing profound loss.
