    Description
    Position Purpose


    The Staff Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities, performs ultrasound procedures, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures, provides patient care essential to Ultrasound procedures, recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures, establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and the Medical Staff.


    Education:
    Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology, or Sonography, either hospital based or college degree program. Associates of Applied Sciences or above.

    Experience:
    Competency in components of Medical Imaging practice as appropriate


    Licenses / Certificates:

    • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Advanced ARRT Registration is preferred.
    • Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
    • CPR
    Working Conditions


    Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired concerning personal, financial, medical and employment status of patients of HCCH and their families.

    Must follow accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.

    Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action.

    Must participate in safety instructional programs.

    Visual and Hearing Requirements

    Yes Must be able to see with corrective eyewear.

    Yes Must be able to hear clearly with hearing assistance device.

    General Job Position Duties / Responsibilities


    • Keep department clean and orderly fashion for fellow employees and patient guest.
    • Be able to perform basic patient care needs.
    • Follow hospital and department safety practices.
    • Adhere to hospital and department policies and procedures.
    • Perform exams to department, ordering provider, and radiologist interpreting the exam.
    • Conform to HIPPA regulations.
    • Must be able to pass drug screens, both pre-employment and throughout duration of employment.
