    Position Summary

    The Auditor - Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance, reports to the Supervisor, Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance and is responsible to conduct and manage surveillance of the performance of the Hawaiian Airlines' (HAL) Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) in accordance with HAL's Continuing Analysis & Surveillance System (CASS), including all maintenance personnel and work performed by outside vendors, to ensure that policies and procedures embody the highest standards of safety and airworthiness. The candidate must be able to travel, work flexible hours, and work beyond regular hours, including weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the collection of CASS data to provide meaningful information and measurement of departmental compliance in support of continuous improvement
    • Performs investigations of significant safety-related or non-compliance events and assists in the development of corrective actions for maintenance related events
    • Responsible for the completion of all assigned scheduled and unscheduled audits
    • Maintains and updates audit record files in HAL's CASS data collection system (TRAX)
    • Drafts and publishes audit summary reports utilizing the TRAX maintenance software system and Adobe Acrobat Pro
    • Issues Corrective Action Response (CAR) reports for non-compliance findings and ensures adequate immediate corrective action, root cause, and comprehensive corrective action
    • Performs research for regulatory compliance issues and provides recommendations or changes to existing documentation to conform to the regulatory requirements
    • Provides oversight of FAA-approved Aircraft Maintenance Programs to ensure continued compliance
    • Investigate and provide Service Difficulty Reports (SDR) to the FAA in accordance with 14CFR
    • Investigate and provide Extended Operations (ETOPS) reports to the FAA in accordance with 14CFR
    • Perform internal and external oversite / surveillance audits of line and heavy maintenance
    • Perform oversite / surveillance audits of fuel providers, fuel storage, and deicing vendors
    • Other duties as assigned or directed
    Minimum Requirements
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Requires FAA Airframe and Power Plant License or 4 years aviation maintenance experience with a 14 CFR Part 121 carrier. Other relevant experience, such as 14 CFR Part 145, military, or relevant Aviation related Degrees will be considered
    • 2 years aviation experience in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, or equivalent Military Standardization required
    • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to all audits and investigations to effectively evaluate information to identify potential systemic hazards
    • Excellent organization, prioritization, presentation, and report writing skills
    • Excellent personal skills such as listening, communication, persuasion, hospitality, and collaboration
    • Ability to summarize complex compliance matters
    • Must be able to confidently and professionally represent Hawaiian Airlines to members of federal authorities and industry
    • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects to balance work within the group
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite

    Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $70,000 - $92,000.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • B.S. Degree in Aviation Management
    • B717, B787, A321, and A330 experience preferred
    • Experience in a FAR part 121 operation.
    • Experience in conducting audits using the Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (CASE) standards
    • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (Parts 21, 25, 43, 65, 121, 145, etc.), Airworthiness Directives, and Manufacturer Service Documents (ICA, SB, SL, etc.)
    • Knowledge of ICAO, EASA, and DOD regulations highly desired
    • Maintenance IT systems knowledge (e.g., SCEPTRE, TRAX, etc.) experience preferred
    • Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro
