    Clinical Focus & Responsibilities

    High Complexity Testing:
    Qualified to perform and analyze results according to CLIA Standards across Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Blood Bank.

    Blood Bank & Hematology:
    Mandatory experience in these specialties; must be proficient in manual and automated methods for valid/accurate result release.

    Information Systems:
    Utilize the lab's LIS to receive patients, document quality control (QC), and troubleshoot instrument calibrations.

    Critical Result Management:
    Ensure strict adherence to turnaround times and appropriate reporting of life-threatening critical values to clinicians.

    Specimen Collection:
    Perform phlebotomy and other collection tasks as required by facility protocol.

    Mandatory Requirements

    Certification:
    ASCP or AMT Generalist Certification (MLS/MLT) or a Specialty Certification in BB, C, H, or M.

    Clinical Knowledge:
    Mastery of manual and automated methods, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting for laboratory instrumentation.

    Education:
    Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology as required by CLIA for high-complexity testing.

    Soft Skills:
    Strong critical thinking and communication for intra-departmental coordination.
