- Actively participates with members of the energy management function in delivering reliable wholesale energy supplies to Denton Municipal Electric at competitive prices, which includes analysis of short-term through long-term load serving requirements
- Provides thought leadership for the implementation and integration of market tools to analyze the ERCOT wholesale energy market consisting of complex programs and algorithms
- Analysis of future market impacts due to Nodal Protocols Revision Requests (NPRRs)
- Understands the fundamentals of energy market modeling, energy analytics, and back-cast analysis
- Familiarity with ERCOT's Nodal Protocols and financial settlement concepts
- Provides thought leadership for designing, constructing, and implementing dashboard screens that inform the Day Ahead and Real Time desk of current market conditions
- Participates as a thought leader and as a contributing team member with the development and implementation of DME's wholesale energy operating strategies, inclusive of scheduling and bidding
- Leads and performs complex analyses to project market trends based on current and future market conditions and operations
- Designs, develops, implements, and maintains complex analyses that includes analysis from database queries via finished products/web publications
- Assists with presentations and backup documentation as needed for various City of Denton and Denton Municipal Electric boards, commissions, and councils
- Participates as a thought leader and as a contributing team member for decisions that may impact DME
- Conducts research, provides technical expertise, and participates in the ERCOT market design and development process
- Maintains regular and punctual on-site attendance

- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering with 8 years of previous work experience in the ERCOT market, 3 years of which should be in the wholesale market (Zonal or Nodal)
- A Master's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering with 6 years of previous work experience in the ERCOT market, 2 years of which should be in the wholesale market (Zonal or Nodal)
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
- Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed
- Knowledge of wholesale fuel, electric markets and evolving industry and regulatory developments in ERCOT
- Knowledge of systems used to forecast, evaluate and transact business in the wholesale fuel and energy markets
- Knowledge of applicable processes, techniques, and methods
- Knowledge of Federal, State, Local laws, and ordinances governing fuel and energy markets
- Skill in planning, organizing, and managing multiple complex projects concurrently

- Ability to demonstrate energy market knowledge and analysis capabilities through a pre-employment screening examination
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Proven track record of performing highly complex analytics in energy markets
- Must have and maintain a valid Class "C" Driver's License and valid state required minimum automobile liability insurance prior to employment (must obtain Texas Class "C" driver's license and state required minimum automobile liability insurance within 90 days of hire per state law)

Summary
This requisition expires on May 5, 2024, but may close earlier if the position is filled prior to the expiration date.
Responsible for analysis, operational management and commercial execution within Energy Management Organization for the DME energy portfolio and its QSE in ERCOT. The portfolio comprises the customer load requirements and the supply resources including dispatchable generation and renewable resources, wholesale markets and congestion. Key areas of focus will be impacts of market changes and the utilization of tools to facilitate optimal outcomes.
