- Process tissue specimens using various laboratory techniques and equipment
- Embed tissue samples in paraffin blocks for sectioning
- Cut thin sections of tissue samples using a microtome
- Stain tissue sections with dyes or chemicals to enhance visibility under a microscope
- Mount stained tissue sections onto glass slides for examination
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
- Follow strict protocols and maintain accurate records of procedures performed
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Pathology, Cytology and IHC are all in Department, receiving specimens from surgery, accessioning specimen into Cerner, collection of blocks from PA staff, processing tissue, embedding, cutting, staining of slides.
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification required
- Must be 50 miles away from Atlanta, GA.
