    Purpose and Responsibilities


    The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, performance management and day-to-day support of the Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities Groups.

    The teams lead by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager are responsible for ensuring our equipment, systems, processes, and facilities are capable of producing super precision ball bearings in a safe and efficient way while meeting all internal and customer quality requirements.

    Recruit, direct, coach, and mentor a strong team of engineers and technical professionals. Support professional development and drive improvements to overall team performance.
    Guide and support the implementation and improvement of the Keene Facility's manufacturing, engineering, technical and process capabilities to achieve performance objectives (OTD, Sales, Packed Output, Quality, Manufacturing Cost, Inventory, EH&S, etc.)

    Oversee and support the management of the preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the Maintenance team to ensure machine down time is minimized and machine capabilities are maintained.

    Develop high-impact capital investment and project proposals to advance the organization in support of Hoshin and annual business planning activities.

    Provide coaching, oversight and direct support to the Team's project work, problem solving efforts, and day-to-day responsibilities to ensure plant and department level objectives are being met.

    Liaise with other local and corporate departments to ensure the activities of the Engineering department are meeting objectives and are aligned with the broader goals of the organization.

    Similarly, the Engineering Manager is expected to provide feedback to other departments within the organization.

    Lead, facilitate and support problem solving efforts to drive to address the root cause of issues impacting the organization using processes such as DMAIC, 8D, DOE and FMEAs.

    Provide oversight and guidance to ensure continued compliance with AS9100, Nadcap, OSHA and other internal/external requirements.
    Lead, manage & execute programs to ensure environmental compliance.
    Manage department costs within budget and drive annual activity to manage associated costs.

    Technical and Functional Skills
    Extensive project management experience
    Minimum 5 years' experience supervising exempt / professional level staff
    Demonstrated experience with capital equipment purchasing and development
    Advanced experience with lean manufacturing
    Familiarity with standard cost systems and product costing
    Advanced knowledge of quality systems (ISO9001, AS9100)
    Metalworking industry experience preferred
    Knowledge of maintenance and facilities management

    Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree of Engineering
    Master's degree in Engineering preffered
