    Description
    Job Opening Summary

    The Clinical Specialist role is to improve clinical practice in area of rehabilitation specialty, though promotion of evidence based practice, education of staff and students, providing mentoring in specialty practice, program development/coordination within the hospital system, and community outreach.

    Provides direct patient care and programs that will result in improved patient outcomes for area of specialty.

    Job Opening Qualifications


    Age of Patients Served:
    All Age Groups.


    Required Education:
    Bachelor's degree

    Specific course work:
    Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology


    Preferred Education:
    Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology.


    Necessary Skills:
    1. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    2. Thorough knowledge of possible hazards/necessary precautions/remedial measures in the treatment and care of patients.
    3. Good understanding of all therapy equipment and procedures related to specialty practice
    4. Computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
    5. Good presentation skills


    Required Licensure/Certifications:
    Current Florida Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Language Pathology license.
    Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.


    Preferred Licensure/ Certifications:
    Board Certification in Specialty Clinical Practice by APTA, AOTA or ASHA.


    Required Experience:
    At least five (5) years of clinical experience with at least one year of expertise


    Preferred Experience:
    Experience in OP clinic and acute care


    Supervision:
    Number of Employees Supervised: 0
