    Job Description:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Clinical Practice Specialist (CPS) is a dedicated nurse, a proficient expert in nursing, and an integral part of the nursing leadership, ensuring the application of Northeast Hospital Corporation's mission and philosophy. The primary responsibility of the CPS is to guarantee that clinical practice aligns with established standards and evidence-based policies. Serving as a mentor, educator, and role model for the emergency services nursing staff, the CPS plays a key role in enhancing patient care by supporting and developing the nursing team, fostering collaboration with patients and their families, and working closely with the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, the CPS acts as an advocate for nursing within the medical staff, displaying a high level of competence in nursing research and professional practice. Operating within the realms of clinical practice, consultation, education, research/clinical outcomes, and population management, the CPS upholds the highest standards of evidence-based practices. Through supervision, education, and program development, the CPS empowers nursing staff, recommends practice enhancements, advises care providers, and engages in special projects.

    • Masters degree in Nursing required, or currently enrolled in program
    • BLS and ACLS certification required
    • National certification in specialty nursing required, or completion within 6 months of hire
    • Preferable background in nursing education and quality improvement
    • Active membership in relevant professional organizations
    • Proficiency in evidence-based practice, encompassing national standards, safety science principles, regulatory requirements, and current resources
    • Engagement in ongoing professional development
    • Shows autonomy and strong decision-making skills
    • Adept at analyzing and integrating research to address clinical issues
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, promoting effective communication and collaborative teamwork
    • Experience in project management and development
    • Skilled in staff education and quality enhancement
    • Capability to organize and deliver interdisciplinary educational programs using various modalities
    • Competence in conducting evidence-based nursing research and presenting findings
    • Superior critical thinking abilities
    • Willingness to travel to multiple campuses

    Preference for OB experience.
