Job Description:
The Vice President of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement and supply chain management within the organization.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Continuously evaluate market trends, supplier performance, and industry best practices to optimize procurement processes.
Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that meet quality, cost, and compliance requirements. Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability of the supply chain and drive continuous improvement.
Contract Negotiation:
Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
Collaborate with legal and finance teams to review and finalize contracts that mitigate risks and maximize value for the organization.
Cost Management:
Implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across the procurement function. Analyze spending patterns, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and track savings achieved through procurement activities.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies.
Develop and enforce procurement policies and procedures to mitigate risks related to quality, safety, and security of supplies and services.
Team Leadership:
Provide strong leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including clinical departments, finance, operations, and IT, to understand their procurement needs and priorities. Align procurement activities with organizational initiatives and support strategic projects and initiatives.
Performance Monitoring:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of the procurement function. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
Master's degree preferred.10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a recent leadership role within the healthcare industry.
Fiscal responsibility managing a $200M + annual budget.Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry trends.
Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving cost savings initiatives.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead and inspire a larger diverse team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Establish and maintain checks and balances to ensure department efficiencies and standards.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as MS Office suite.
Utilization of a companywide ERP system (Workday, ADP, UKG preferred).
