JOB SUMMARY:
The Lab/X-ray tech performs laboratory and x-ray procedures under the supervision and as ordered by the physician.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal training which will probably be indicated by an associate or bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an associate degree in Imaging.

Physical requirements include repetitive bending at the waist and maintaining that position for approximately a two to three minute time span; standing for an extended period of time; manipulation of wheelchairs; i.e.

pushing, steering; lifting patiens or stock items of various weights.


JOB DUTIES:

• Direct patient to proper treatment room; prepare patients for procedures in lab, xray or EKG
• Instruct patients as necessary for all appropriate procedures.
• Collect and process (venipuncture, fingersticks, and swabs) all labs according to protocols and procedures as directed. Follow universal precautions when collecting and handling specimens.
• Performs x-ray procedures ordered by provider following clinic protocols.
• Order and maintain inventory of supplies; set up & stock areas for daily use.
• Maintain daily records and run appropriate Quality Control measures on all laboratory procedures as set forth in accepted laboratory guidelines.
• Maintain appropriate daily records and follow protocols for submission to PAC's of all x-rays performed.
• Handle properly the disposal of infectious and/or biohazardous waste.
• Clean and maintain all lab/x-ray equipment
• Maintain instructions, kits, and protocols for all lab/x-ray procedures performed.
• Perform EKGs as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM
