    Symmetrio is recruiting for their client, a leading medical device manufacturer, a candidate specializing in the development and implementation of market access and reimbursement strategies.

    This person will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing market access and reimbursement strategies.

    The candidate will collaborate closely with many parts of the organization, including regional and global government affairs, marketing, product development, and sales to ensure optimal patient access and reimbursement.

    The successful candidate will possess strategic and technical expertise to navigate reimbursement challenges and drive advocacy efforts. This position is based in the Washington, DC office and requires about 25% travel. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years experience in reimbursement and market access strategies. A BS in HPA or related degree is a must and a MBA is preferred.

    ResponsibilitiesDevelop policy positions and lead strategy on health policy, coverage, Medicare payment, and other issues affecting patient access to medical productsDevelop strong relationships with key government payors such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

    Advocate policy changes through comment letters, position statements, and presentations to federal and state policymakersExecute market access strategies to secure and maintain reimbursement and patient access for solutionsDesign and implement strategic recommendations to ensure optimal market access, particularly regarding reimbursement for medical technologiesCollaborate cross-functionally to educate internal stakeholders and align reimbursement strategies with business objectivesProvide strategic advice to senior leadership on reimbursement environment, policy changes, and market access risksRepresent the company before relevant associations and organizationsPerform other related duties as assigned, incorporating company values into all department functions

    RequirementsBachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred5-7 years of progressive experience in reimbursement, market access, or policy strategiesStrong knowledge of federal healthcare programs, MedPAC, ACA implementation, and reimbursement for diagnostic and therapeutic devicesAbility to think strategically, translate strategy into tactical implementation, and motivate teamsDemonstrated ability to drive positive change and work effectively in cross-functional teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with strong editorial and proofreading abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office suite; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus
