    About this role

    Adaptiva has an exciting opportunity for a Controller. The Controller will be located at the companys office in Kirkland, Washington.

    The Controller will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as the company continues to enhance its operations and undergoes rapid growth. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, participatory manager who will lead the Finance team, and will have a successful track record in setting priorities; as well as excellent analytic, organization, and communication skills.

    This role will be involved in both corporate and project accounting and will give you international exposure.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for timely, accurate and efficient accounting close on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
    • Ensures accuracy of the companys financial status and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
    • Completes accounting functions on a day-to-day basis including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, treasury management, procurement, and general ledger accounting.
    • Facilitates accounting department's use of CRMs and various other company applications and integrates software into accounting processes and procedures.
    • Performs technical accounting issue research and resolution as necessary.
    • Provides support with preparation and completion of the fiscal year budgeting process, evaluates business unit performance against budget, and develops forecasts/reforecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance.

    Financial Reporting:

    • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with all state and federal regulations.
    • Preparation of the monthly management financial reporting package, including variance analysis.
    • Reporting of operational data to the leadership team, including key metrics on all financials.
    • Coordinates the creation of periodic financial reporting packages for company leadership.
    • Manages the annual financial audit process.

    Internal Controls:

    • Develops, analyzes, documents, and implements internal controls.
    • Develops, maintains, and enhances accounting and finance policies, processes and procedures to comply with all state and federal regulations.
    • Seeks opportunities to revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting, or related field.
    • CPA (certified public accountant) required.
    • 7+ years of professional accounting experience.
    • 5+ years of experience as a senior level accounting or finance manager.
    • Proven experience with SaaS business models and ASC606 revenue recognition.
    • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
    • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
    • Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and investor relations preferred.
    • International finance experience (preferred).
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Outstanding leader and team builder.

    The annual base salary range for this position is between $160,000 - $185,000. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
