    Description

    TITLE: EMT- Paramedic
    ORGANIZATION: Operations
    EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt
    SUPERVISED BY: Field Supervisor, Operations Manager

    BASE SALARY RANGE: $ $39.50 / hour (Commensurate with experience)

    ACCOUNTABILITY: The primary role of the EMT-P is to save lives, help those in need, promote health, avoid harm, and ensure equitable access to emergency medical services. The EMT-P is skilled in advanced prehospital emergency care and services through a comprehensive educational program. The EMT-P is authorized to drive emergency vehicles and provide prehospital advanced life support (ALS). Their practice standards are aligned with established protocols and guidelines.

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    • Conduct thorough patient assessments and assist medical staff as required.
    • Deliver efficient care and stabilize patients before transportation.
    • Safely move patients to ambulance vehicles.
    • Ensure safe patient transport and provide necessary ongoing care.
    • Coordinate patient transfer upon arrival.
    • Prepare ALS equipment for ambulance service after patient delivery.
    • Perform extrication procedures when needed.
    • Manage accident scenes for safety.
    • Communicate with dispatch and other emergency services during runs.
    • Accurately document medical information and care provided.
    • Maintain and check vehicle equipment daily.
    • Report equipment issues to supervisors.
    • Maintain required certifications.
    • Administer pre-hospital care within licensure limits.
    • Attend compulsory meetings and training sessions.
    • Uphold ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
    • Demonstrate and promote professional competence.
    • Adhere to practice standards and education requirements.
    • Maintain personal and professional ethics.
    • Ensure services are provided by qualified personnel.
    • Report unethical behavior professionally.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    PHYSICAL STRENGTH REQUIRED:
    • Ability to lift 250 pounds with assistance.
    • Capable of handling a 50-75 lb. ambulance stretcher with assistance.
    • Able to lift a 175 lb. patient with assistance.
    • Meet physical assessment test requirements.
    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
    • Adaptability to work in various weather conditions.
    • Risk of bodily harm and exposure to infectious materials.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Skilled in driving in different conditions.
    • Apt at quick decision-making in stressful situations.
    • Ability to interact responsibly with patients and team members.
    • Knowledgeable about common illnesses and medical terminology.
    • Proficient in BLS and ALS procedures.
    • Competent in using locator aids.
    • Understanding of emergency driving rules.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Professional conduct at all times.
    • Proficient in written and oral English communication.
    • Compassionate patient care.
    • Strict adherence to professionalism and hygiene standards.
    • Familiarity with company policies and protocols.
    • Physically fit for the role.
    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • No physical limitations for heavy lifting.
    • Excellent reflexes and safe driving skills.
    • No medical conditions hindering job performance.
    • Current EMT-P certifications.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Current ACLS and PALS certifications.
    • Valid BCLS certification.
