    Position Summary

    Works closely with the Testing Office, Curriculum Offices, Special Education Division, and the English Language Acquisition Office to coordinate federal, state, and county assessments within the high school, with related departments, and the administration.

    Responsible for assisting with the compilation, analysis, presentation, and reporting of student achievement data to the high school community.

    • Assists the principal in communicating goals and expectations of assessment programs for students of Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).
    • Coordinates federal, state, and county assessments with related departments within the high school and the administration.
    • Adheres to and complies with all Board of Education policies and regulations regarding the Code of Ethics, COMAR, student participation, exemptions, accommodations, test security polices and procedures, test materials, accountability, and other related testing matters.
    • Collaborates with and supports Instructional Data, Technology Department, Special Education Division, Curriculum Offices, English Language Acquisition Office, etc., with the implementation of federal, state, and county assessments.
    • Provides instructional leadership in concert with the principal and/or other staff involving the analysis and interpretation of the assessment data including recommendations for teaching and learning based on assessment results.
    • Attends/participates in required training sessions to receive updated information regarding the administration of the various assessments.
    • Collaborates with the school-based and district level Guidance Office, Special Education Department, 504 Specialist, English Language Acquisition Office, and other departments to properly identify the students and appropriate accommodations needed to participate in federal, state, and county assessments.
    • Ensures and documents that student accommodations have been administered according to the IEP, 504 Plan, English Language Learners (ELL), and/or the students personal needs profile (PNP).
    • Conducts professional development and trainings for school-based personnel aligned to federal, state and county assessments on proper test administration, test security policies and procedures, interpretation, and use of test results for instructional decisions.
    • Provides training to the school-based personnel on the use of web-based and online assessments, and online services and resources provided by AACPS, MSDE, and other vendors as appropriate.
    • Engages in and facilitates on-going communication and support for Test Examiners, Proctors, Accommodators, instructional staff and administrators on all aspects of federal, state, and county assessment programs before, during, and after test administrations.
    • Serves as a resource for questions and updates regarding the Code of Ethics, COMAR, student participation, exemptions, accommodations, test security policies and procedures, test materials, accountability, and other related testing matters.
    • Assists with preparation and correction of test files before and after administration of federal, state, county, College Board (PSAT and AP), and other assessments as assigned.
    • Coordinates the ordering, inventorying, distribution, and collection of test materials from the various vendors for all federal, state, and county assessment programs.
    • Oversees the production and distribution of various reports associated with the federal, state and county assessments.
    • Reconciles school shortages, using tracking systems from vendors and couriers.
    • Communicates with the Testing Office, Curriculum Offices, English Language Acquisition Office, and Special Education Division to ensure the security of test materials and reconciliation of missing test materials as appropriate.
    • Investigates possible test security violations and reports them to the principal, Testing Office, Curriculum Offices, English Language Acquisition Office, and Special Education Division as appropriate.
    • Maintains the required documentation for each assessment, as required by the Testing Office, Code of Maryland Regulations, Curriculum Offices, English Language Acquisition Office, and vendors as appropriate.
    • Responsible for working with the School Registrar to ensure that test data for new student enrollment/re-enrollment is recorded in the appropriate internal systems.
    • Maintains the confidentiality of student information.
    • Analyzes data reported from STIS (Dashboard) and Performance Matters or other data platforms and systems as applicable.
    • Informs school staff about the analysis and interpretation of assessment data.
    • Interacts with Instructional staff to facilitate the flow of data among instructional teams for use in instructional and administrative decision-making.
    • Coordinates The Bridge Program.
    • Serves as the liaison between the school-based monitors and the Bridge coordinator at Central Office by providing resources and data to project monitors, delivering projects for scoring, and managing the results scored projects.
    • Coordinates Summer Bridge opportunities with participating students and project monitors.
    • Coordinates Summer HSA remediation and testing with participating students and teachers.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications

    Education


    • Must hold or be eligible for an Advanced Professional Certificate for teaching issued by the Maryland State Department of Education; endorsement as a School Principal or Administrator I, is preferred
    Experience


    • Minimum of three years of experience developing and conducting training and/or professional development at the school or district level.
    • Three years of successful teaching experience at the high school level.
    • Experience working in public education within the last three years.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • Have knowledge of the curriculum of the schools of Anne Arundel County.
    • Experience with administering Federal, State, and Instructional-Based Assessments.
    • Experience with computer applications such as Student Management System (SMS), Performance Matters, STIS (Dashboard, Test Accommodations, and Testing Attendance), Microsoft Office Suite (2010 or newer), Blackboard (curriculum documents), etc.
    • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with professional colleagues, staff, students, and the public both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to commit to the 200-day work schedule, which includes the entire school year plus days scheduled during the summer.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • At least one of the required three references must be the current supervisor.
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with diverse populations.
    • Ability to employ business technology tools (e.g. e-mail, AACPS Intranet, electronic benefits enrollment tool, etc.).
