- Talk to patients and make sure they feel comfortable
- Assess for signs of gingivitis or periodontitis
- Notate and inform the dentist of suspicious areas that appear on x-rays or are visible intraorally
- Remove plaque and calculus accordingly
- Apply fluoride varnish, silver diamine fluoride, and sealants
- Explain good oral hygiene techniques to patients of all ages
- Provide post-operative health education to patients
- Take diagnosable x-ray images of the patients' teeth
- Work with dentists to decide the best form of treatment for a variety of dental disease
- Keep detailed records of each patient's visit and update their health history
- Be a team player while working in a fast paced environment
- Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in registered dental hygiene program required
- Has an active Arkansas Dental Hygiene License
- Current CPR Certification
- Certified to use a laser - preferred but not required (will be provided if not currently certified)
- Understands HIPAA regulations and all dentistry safety guidelines
