    Job Title: CDL Driver

    About the Role

    We are seeking a skilled CDL driver to join our team at Wilberts Inc. as a CDL Driver in the Purchasing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely pick up and delivery of scrap material and intracompany equipment within Premium Auto Parts locations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operates a Class A CDL semi and trailer to ensure safe deliveries and pickups, adhering to all federal, state, and company regulations.
    • Completes and documents proper commercial pre and post trip inspections of the vehicle, guaranteeing compliance with safety standards.
    • Safely transports scrap, equipment, and other materials between Premium Auto Parts locations, utilizing tarps as required and securing loads according to DOT regulations.
    • Maintains a high level of situational awareness while operating equipment, following all company safety policies and procedures to avoid damage or harm to people, property, or equipment.
    • May be required to operate certain types of forklifts or heavy machinery with appropriate licensure.
    • Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations governing transportation of goods, including Logbook, Drive time, Rest Periods, etc.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with relevant experience in the automotive industry.
    • Valid commercial driver's license required.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, requiring assistance for heavier merchandise.

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. This is a smoke-free environment for safety reasons.
