    The Mental Health Counselor will provide individual and/or group counseling as well as crisis intervention as needed.

    Provides direct referral, resource, and/or education to LGBTQ+ individuals and families having social, emotional, and/or relationship concerns at Time Out Youth.

    The position reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

    To support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth by offering vital programs, fostering unconditional acceptance, and creating safe spaces for self-expression through leadership, community support and advocacy.


    Vision:
    To inspire inclusive communities where all youth are equally empowered to reach their true potential.
    Principal Duties and Responsibilities
    Provide mental health services to LGBTQ+ individuals, ages 13 to 24, through individual, couples, family, and group counseling
    Respond to conflict and/or crisis in the building utilizing crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
    Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups
    Deliver LGBTQ+ cultural competency trainings to mental health service professionals on clinical best practices when working with LGBTQ+ individuals and families
    Document, track, and monitor participant utilization for grants, funders, and organizational reporting through note writing and data tracking
    Participate in various community events and collaborative committees
    Position Requirements
    Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work; preferably from an accredited program

    NC licensure:
    LCMHC(A), LMFT(A), Psychological Associate, or LCSW(A)
    Minimum of three years of experience in providing mental health services including counseling and group facilitation post graduation
    Deep understanding and knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues and racial equity, particularly related to gender identity and expression
    Energetic self-starter, active problem solver, and team player
    Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people
    Professional liability insurance and clinical supervision (if applicable)

    Position Schedule:
    Tuesday to Saturday

    Compensation:
    $55,000

    Time Out Youth strives for transparency in compensation.

    To that end, and in an effort to provide equity in pay for all employees, all starting Counselor positions at Time Out Youth begin employment at this range.

    Time Out Youth provides a full benefits package for all f/t employees, including healthcare, dental, vision, and 401k options. Full benefits package will be discussed upon offer.
