    Job Description:


    The Microelectronics Center group of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, passionate, and creative Fab Operations Engineering Manager 1 for the Advanced Technology Labs (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs.

    Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide) and providing leading-edge technology development in superconducting electronics.

    The chosen candidate will be the Manager for the Operations Engineers supporting the foundry operations activities and will be responsible for directing, planning, and managing the engineering work in our semiconductor fabrication areas as it pertains to manufacturing operations.

    Examples are tactical tasks like daily coordination of WIP priority and lot movement, as well as strategic initiatives including capacity modeling and continuous improvement activities.

    The Fab Operations Engineering Manager will be responsible for supervising engineering resources who operate in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

    The manager will spend approximately one-fifth of their time in the cleanroom environment supporting foundry operations alongside technicians and engineers performing the work.


    Other responsibilities include:
    Provide direction and guidance to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies
    Responsible for meeting Fab throughput, product delivery, Fab yields, and overall fab quality and continuous improvement efforts
    Involved in staffing decisions, training, and driving engagement efforts to achieve the employee's highest potential
    Innovate on existing reports and creating new ones
    Introducing and executing new metrics
    Identify areas of opportunity for the foundry and execute new projects accordingly
    Provide management with progress reports and presentations
    Work independently across the organization to meet Fab needs and goals
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to increase efficiency of the Fab
    Maintain a safe work environment.

    Basic Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or other related technical discipline with 5 years of relevant experience (3 years with a technical MS and 0 years with a PhD)
    Direct experience with semiconductor fabrication
    Leadership experience (team lead, project lead, organization lead, etc.)
    Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Manufacturing or Operations leadership experience
    Technical knowledge and understanding of semiconductor processes and tool sets, working in a cleanroom environment
    Working knowledge of industry and management methodologies focused on continuous improvement in manufacturing, such as SPC, 5S, Total Quality Management, or Six Sigma
    Experienced in ISO 9001 or AS9100 Audits and Requirements Knowledgeable of Industrial Hazardous Waste Management procedures

    Salary Range:
    $109,800 - $164,600

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

    In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
