    Description

    NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM:

Valley Presbyterian Hospital Nurse Residency Program is a 12-month program that consists of computer-based, individualized learning modules provided by HealthStream in addition to in-person monthly classroom sessions.

Our Nurse Residency program offers the New Graduates a customized learning approach to support their specific needs, utilizing evidence-based content.

We have a dedicated Educator for Nursing Advancement, assigned to guide and support our Nurse Residents through their first year of practice.

In addition, Nurse Residents are partnered with a mentor through our Mentorship Program, and eventually are provided the opportunity to become a mentor to the newer generations of New Graduates.

In addition to classroom time and HealthStream modules, our Nurse Residents receive several weeks of RN preceptorship on their designated units.

During classroom sessions, Nurse Residents receive interactive presentations with subject matter experts and hospital leaders within the organization.

Here at VPH, we promote and support growth within the organization.

Through our Clinical Ladder Program, Nurse Residents are encouraged to get involved and to be a part of committees, including their Unit Based Councils, which lead front-line change initiatives throughout the organization.

Becoming a Nurse Resident at VPH doesn't just provide you with an environment where you will be supported and guided to become a confident and competent nurse but also provides you with a sense of family.
