    Estimated Weekly Pay:
    $1,830 – $1,930


    Weekend Requirement:
    Every other weekend


    Call Requirement:
    2 call shifts per 6-week schedule


    Floating:
    Required to Mother/Baby and Scrub (C-section support)


    Patient Ratio:
    1:2


    Charting:
    Cerner (preferred) — experience with Cerner EMR a plus

    Job Requirements



    Experience:
    3 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience preferred (2 years considered with strong, recent L&D experience)


    Licensure:
    Active RN license in Maryland OR compact/multi-state license


    Required Certifications (at submission):
    BLS, NRP, C-EFM (NCC), STABLE

    Preferred Certifications/

    Experience:
    ACLS, previous charge experience, community hospital or high-acuity L&D, perinatal nursing experience


    Scrub/C-Section:
    Scrub experience required — ability to circulate and scrub for C-sections and serve as backup


    References:
    Two supervisor references required


    First-time travelers:
    Accepted — travel nurse friendly


    Immunizations:
    Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

    Responsibilities

    Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care: triage, labor management, delivery, and immediate postpartum support for mother and newborn

    Interpret and respond to fetal monitoring strips (electronic fetal monitoring / C-EFM) and act on abnormal fetal heart rate patterns per evidence-based protocols

    Administer and titrate common L&D medications (oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, prostaglandins) and post-delivery therapies

    Circulate and scrub for C-sections and assist in obstetric procedures as needed

    Perform maternal and newborn assessments (APGARs, thermoregulation, newborn safety/identification) and support breastfeeding and lactation initiation

    Provide patient and family-centered education throughout the perinatal experience and collaborate with the interdisciplinary OB/GYN team

    Float to Mother/Baby unit when needed to support safe staffing and continuity of care

    Document accurately and timely in Cerner EMR and contribute to quality and patient safety initiatives
