    Overview

    CNC Machinists carry out set-up, dimensional inspection, and production operating tasks for various equipment, such as live-tool lathes, Swiss lathes, grinders, EDMs, mills, and machining centers.

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidates should:

      • Show reliability with outstanding attendance.
      • Excel in a dynamic work environment.
      • Display strong interpersonal skills while collaborating in a team setting.
      • Possess effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
      • Be capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working overtime when necessary.

    Key responsibilities include:

      • Setting up CNC equipment independently, performing new process validations, and making all necessary adjustments to achieve an approved First Article Inspection Report.
      • Conducting comprehensive dimensional inspections, covering various aspects such as lengths, diameters, finishes, and all positional and geometric requirements, for both First Article preparation and in-process inspection.
      • Operating machinery for production runs while upholding process capability and meeting productivity benchmarks.
      • Addressing issues and enhancing processes during setup and production phases.
      • Cooperating with team members to ensure collective goals are achieved.
      • Regularly maintaining equipment.
      • Utilizing software tools for tooling inventory management, standards review, SPC data collection, and job performance tracking.
      • Maintaining a clean work area free from safety hazards.

    Qualifications

    Essential skills:

      • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Understanding GD&T according to ASME Y14.5 standards is highly beneficial.
      • Competence in CNC setup and operational tasks. Knowledge of programming is advantageous.
      • Solid understanding of production tooling selection and utilization, encompassing spindle tooling and cutting tools.
      • Expertise in common inspection and gaging techniques, such as micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators, and more. Familiarity with CMMs, vision systems, and other metrology equipment is a bonus.
      • Familiarity with SPC data collection and analysis for process capability maintenance.
      • Ability to meet productivity and quality standards while dealing with various components, materials, and machinery.
      • Fundamental computer and software proficiency. Proficiency in CAD/CAM, SPC, ERP, inventory management, or standard office applications is beneficial.

    Minimum experience required:

      • Three years of machining experience, including exposure to manual and CNC production equipment.
      • Three years of experience in setup and production on CNC machinery.
      • Possession of a diploma or degree in a relevant technical field is advantageous.
      • Prior leadership experience is a positive.

    Compensation: $16.00 - $32.00 per hour depending on experience
