    Summary

    To serve in the capacity of a subject matter specialist related to Information Security Programs; responsible for analyzing industry landscape, understanding Vanguard Charitable's capabilities (either internal or through key partners), identifying enhancement capabilities, and monitoring implementation of programs. Evaluates new and existing suppliers to determine if they meet Vanguard Charitable requirements regarding Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability and drives change efforts where needed.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Partners with business units on all vendor projects to ensure that security standards are upheld and or/enhanced, and service level agreements are established.
    2. Serves as information security subject matter expert, providing advisory and consulting services.
    3. Analyzes security gaps in emerging technologies and frameworks that lack standard validation methodologies and incorporates remediation practices to reduce risk. Effectively communicates risk assessment findings, security concerns, and control gaps to business and IT partners across the organization in appropriate terms.
    4. Partners, collaborates, and builds relationships with business representatives and IT teams across the organization and our key partners (SOC, Managed Service Provider, and Vanguard), as well as the Risk and Vendor Management Teams on projects.
    5. Ensures Vanguard Charitable is assessing our environment for risks/vulnerabilities according to our Security Assessment Policy and findings are closed in line with our policies and guidelines.
    6. Develops, communicates, and maintains organization's information security policies.
    7. Maintains IT contingency plans that meet the needs of the organization based on system criticality.
    8. Organizational vulnerability and security governance reporting and analysis, including preparation of materials for Board of Trustees.
    9. Provides exceptional support to lines of business within Vanguard Charitable for which you are assigned as an advocate.
    10. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
    • Minimum of three years related experience.
    • Ability to analyze and demonstrate problem resolution skills as well as attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated strong organization and time management skills.
    • Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
    • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and exercise good judgment.
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of security concepts, theories and practices.
    • Ability to deal effectively with various levels of business and management.
