Job Description

As a Security Officer - Flex Petrochemical Patrol Driver in Ottawa, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. You will complete routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, support access and visitor checks, document observations, and communicate clearly with site teams. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial chemical location.

Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site contacts and/or public emergency services as directed.

Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, production-adjacent areas, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.

Control access at gates and/or entry points by checking identification, logging visitors and vendors, and verifying delivery and vehicle information per site procedures.

Complete detailed shift reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs, and communicate hazards, suspicious activity, and/or maintenance concerns through the established chain of command.

Minimum Requirements:

A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
