    Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to support a spacecraft mission for a variety of intelligence and defense agencies in the following locations; Los Angeles, CA, Washington, D.C., Seattle, Washington.

    The team is seeking a skilled cloud engineer to support the development of infrastructure for satellites and servers in space.

    Mostly remote work - on-site 1-2 times/month for client meetings Responsibilities of the

    Platform Engineer:

    • Responsible for the Kubernetes deployment strategy and implementation to ensure a successful architecture and software product
    • Develop secure ingress and egress to customer and vendor data centers in a multi and single tenant environment
    • Expertise managing Kubernetes-based architecture and providing platform infrastructure in a production environment
    • Strong proficiency developing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions using Terraform or alternative tools
    • Proficiency in Python and experience working with software teams developing distributed microservice software capabilities
    • Familiarity with cloud services in AWS (preferred) / Azure / GCP and ability to make trades on cloud native vs self-hosted software capabilities
    • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similar
    • Understanding of networking using VPN's, NLB/ALB's, HTTPS, TLS, and CDN
    • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized applications, and serverless architecture
    • Strong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, event-driven and multi-tier architectures
    • Strong knowledge of task automation and CI/CD pipeline building, preferably with GitHub actions but not required
    • Qualifications of the

    Platform Engineer:

    • Bachelors degree in computer science or related field and 3-5+ years of experience as a cloud, DevOps, or platform engineer
    • Minimum secret clearance
    • Strong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, event-driven and multi-tier architectures
    • Strong knowledge of task automation and CI/CD pipeline building, preferably with GitHub actions but not required
    • Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems
    • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and cost-effective cloud architecture
    • Use of identity and access management via Auth0 or Okta
    • Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version control
    • Experience supporting AWS environments

    Platform Engineer:

    • Compensation: $140,000 - $185,000
      based on years of experience
