    We are seeking a highly motivated Information Security Intern to join our team for a few months. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking on various entry level Information Security tasks in an effort to not only increase their foundational Information Security knowledge but to also add value to the team by completing these tasks

    This may involve among other things assisting in the assessment and evaluation of our organization's security controls and processes to ensure they meet industry standards and comply with regulatory requirements. This individual will work closely with senior members of the security team to learn more about the field of Information Security as well as to learn how to identify potential vulnerabilities and security threats and how to recommend appropriate controls and remediation strategies to address those items.

    What you will do:

  • Under the direction of Information Security team leaders, take on entry level Information Security tasks to grow knowledge and contribution capabilities. These tasks may include the following:
  • Assist in conducting security assessments and evaluations of systems, applications, and networks.
  • Review and analyze security controls to ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate controls and remediation strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide support in the evaluation of security incidents and help identify root causes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of security assessments and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide security guidance and support.
  • Stay current with emerging threats and vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
  • What you need to have:

  • Some college work or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field is desired.
  • No years of work experience in cybersecurity or related field is required, but any training or exposure to cybersecurity in school or other activities is helpful.
  • Familiarity with industry security standards and regulatory requirements is helpful, but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Attention to details and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Security+, CEH, or CISSP are a plus but not required.
