- Advising on best practices addressing Department of Defense cybersecurity requirements and their integration with COTS deployments in various cloud-based PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS configurations.
- Supporting the product owner in managing communications with stakeholders, managing customer's expectations for deliverables, and implementing an effective project governance system.
- Delivering top notch technical services that meet or exceed vendor best practices, DoD guidelines, Air Force requirements, and industry standards.
- Promote team empowerment through team-building techniques, ensuring each team member is making a meaningful contribution and fully engaged in the project.
- Responsible for designing, building, and supporting a secure cloud platform and Linux-based instances based on industry standards, best practices, and guidelines
- Determine technical standards and specifications and lead the design, build and support of shared services cloud platform components
- Providing professional support services and/or the integration of their respective products
- Implement the products based on best practices.
- Review the current architectural landscape and make appropriate recommendations
- Must be able to compare various solutions and determine the one that best fits the need
- Design, develop, and maintain Linux-based instances and backend applications
- Deploy and maintain web application technologies and middleware solutions on the Linux platform
- Research new technologies and products for their applicability to business processes
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise and advisory services that can include tier 2 support for the platform
- Configuration and execution of vulnerability and web application scans
- This position requires a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in System administration and development experience
- At least four (4) years of experience working with design and implementation of systems and applications at Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience setting up administrator and service accounts and troubleshooting
- Creating/updating and maintaining system documentation, interacting with users, and evaluates vendor products, deep understanding of monitoring AWS instances and services
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform capabilities and best practices architectures, and engineering solutions within multiple Cloud accounts and services
- Experience working in AWS via the CLI and management console
- Knowledge and experience architecting and configuring Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)
- Strong working knowledge of both the Microsoft Server and Linux Operating Systems
- Development and implementation of vulnerability remediation strategies
- Experience writing process requirements, technical design documents, and standard operating procedures
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams with diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrating strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Understanding of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Well Architected Framework
- Proven technical knowledge of network, internet systems, databases, and operating systems including Linux, and Microsoft in AWS
- Working knowledge of programming languages, including Perl, Python, and shell scripting
- Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software systems and related products
- Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general system management best practices
- This position requires an active DoD Security clearance with a minimal of a Tier 3 investigation.
- Possess a Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for a Top-Secret Security Clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation.
- Possess a minimum of a DoD 8570 IAT-II level professional certification (Security + CE or other).
