Ace Hardware West, a Mead Lumber Company, is seeking individuals with great customer service aptitudes and passion for retail/hardware. We feature a great line up of quality building materials, millwork, hardware, tools and much more. We are looking for outgoing, helpful associates to welcome and assist customers with their projects while working in a fast-paced and fun environment.

Mead Lumber, founded in 1910, is 100% Employee Owned, and listed in the Lumber Building Materials Journal as the 18 largest Pro Contractor lumber/building materials retailer in the country. Mead operates 52 Lumber Yard, Retail, Truss Plant, and Component locations across nine Midwestern states.

The primary responsibilities of the Cashier position are to provide excellent customer service, accurately and efficiently process transactions, and maintain a clean and organized checkout area as well as support store management and team associates.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Learn proper procedures for orders, special orders, purchase orders, returns, payment on account, and merchandise receiving.
• Greet customers as they enter the store and thank each customer as they exit the store.
• Answer incoming phone calls in a pleasant and effective manner.
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
• Accurately and efficiently process transactions and maintain all cash at registers.
• Process cash, credit card and charge transactions accurately following all company procedures.
• Issue proper receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers.
• Count cash drawer at opening and close every day.
