    Description

    Job Listing: Post Award Associate of Financial Management at Virginia Tech

    The Post Award Associate of Financial Management is part of a team responsible for billing, financial reporting, receivable/collection, and fiscal closeout of research awards in accordance with sponsored award requirements.

    • Review financial terms and invoicing requirements of award documents to prepare accurate invoices and financial reports
    • Ensure monthly transactions comply with award terms
    • Conduct fiscal reconciliation for award closeout and final invoice submission
    • Manage accounts receivable for accurate payment application
    • Utilize University Banner applications and online sponsor invoicing systems

    This role requires fostering teamwork, demonstrated organizational skills, and a strong commitment to customer service. Proficiency in University financial and award management systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and Adobe is essential. Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities are also key.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or significant relevant work experience
    • Familiarity with bookkeeping/accounting practices
    • Experience or coursework in accounting, finance, or government/business regulations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with federal and non-federal grants and/or contract regulations
    • Project administration, billing, and reporting experience
    • Knowledge of university administrative and accounting practices

    Pay Band: 4

    Appointment Type: Regular

    Salary Information: Starting at $58,000 - commensurate with experience

    Additional Information:

    Eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with in-office presence required during training period. Candidate must pass a criminal conviction check.
