The Patient Care Tech Float performs basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN including monitoring vital signs taking blood glucose measurements recording intake output assisting patients with tending to personal care activities bathing grooming eating reporting abnormal findings or changes in physical mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff keeping patient rooms clean orderly demonstrates flexibility organization multi-tasking prioritizing unit work quickly serving as liaison between patient care units departments answering telephone intercom call lights politely communicating information appropriately managing overall unit workflow charge RN assistant manager needed basis performing pre-census validating daily admission discharge census lists basis.
