    Job Summary

    The Assistant Nurse Manager is a key role in the Medical/Surgical Pulmonary Renal Hospitalist - E5 department, responsible for coordinating, planning, and administrative management of nursing unit staff on the assigned primary shift. This position requires leadership, mentorship, and collaboration to ensure competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Mentor professional caregivers in the delivery of patient care and facilitate patient access, communication, and transitions throughout the acute care stay.
    • Provide direction and support to unit-based staff and collaborate with other service and department leaders toward attainment of short- and long-term goals and objectives.
    • Assure that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers including referring facilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
    • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the hospital's mission and departmental/unit vision and philosophy.

    Requirements

    • Leadership skills to guide direct patient care provided by specialty nursing unit staff on the assigned primary shift.
    • Ability to assure competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with other service and department leaders.
    • Familiarity with hospital policies, programs and services.
